An absolutely phenomenal hotel and inn. The service was amazing! Small, quiet, but with stunning grounds and a beautiful (if small) pool. Giovanni is a particular standout - he is knowledgeable about the area, about wine, about food, about the hotel… he is an absolute pleasure! We ate at the restaurant too, and Jess was our waitress. She was also wonderful. Knowledgeable, sweet, and attentive. The food was beautiful, and the dining room, though small, was thoughtfully laid out. The view into the kitchen was a particular standout. We can’t wait to go back!
We came here for dinner, we’re not staying on site. The dining room is absolutely gorgeous and very nice ambience. The staff were all knowledgeable about the menu and helpful. The food is divine, absolutely. The onion butter with the bread is so luscious, the onions on the burger were exquisite and interesting, and the short rib was fall-off-the-bone splendidly tender and decadent. Funny enough, our absolute favorite item was the fried Troutlings bar snack. So unique and feels like this may be the only spot in the world you could get such an item. My only negative, and it isn’t huge, is that the cocktail program does not hold up next to the incredibly created and executed food. While good, the cocktails were fairly basic in comparison.
This was our 3rd stay at a Foster Supply Hospitality property and it did not disappoint! We came for our 1st anniversary and the staff, as always, was warm and made sure we felt very welcomed. The location of The DeBruce on the Willowemoc Creek is stunning - we wish we had more time to explore the grounds and try fly fishing! The front porch is the perfect place to read a book (and maybe fall asleep), and the pool is relaxing and overlooks the beautiful grounds. The restaurant is really the star, though. Delicious food in a gorgeous setting. We had a fun night at dinner with Gio as our server. A really lovely stay in the Catskills! Many thanks to the entire staff (especially Phil!).
My wife and I had a fantastic stay at The DeBruce -- the staff was warm, the service was on point, and it felt like staying at a friend's place. We loved getting toasty by the fireplace, counting newts during a hike of the property, making s'mores, and having some fantastic meals (hint: get the tasting menu). Hard to beat. Excited to come back.
My wife and I spent three nights at The DeBruce and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was warm and effortless—every staff member made us feel genuinely welcome, like we were staying at a friend’s beautiful country estate. The setting is cozy and serene, nestled in the Catskills with stunning views and charming interiors that strike the perfect balance between rustic and refined. It’s the kind of place that makes you exhale and slow down. The real standout, though, was the food. Every meal was a revelation—thoughtfully prepared, beautifully plated, and deeply satisfying. Whether it was the multi-course tasting dinner or the perfectly cooked breakfast, you could feel the care and creativity in every bite. We left feeling rested, well-fed, and already dreaming of our next visit. The DeBruce is a gem—we can’t recommend it highly enough.
We try to make it to The DeBruce once a season, and every time we leave even more impressed than the last. This spring’s Stream Tasting Menu was a perfect tribute to the Catskills—thoughtfully composed, beautifully presented, and deeply seasonal. From the trout roe and spring pea salad to the grilled brook trout with rocket flowers, every dish felt rooted in place and time. The stinging nettle and river eel stew was unexpected and unforgettable, and the hot smoked steelhead with reduced cream was a standout. The kitchen’s attention to local ingredients—from Snowdance Farm chicken to fiddlehead ferns—makes each course feel like a walk through the woods. And to end on a sorrel and marzipan ice cream with pink peppercorn mochi? Just perfect. A truly special meal, as always. Can’t wait for summer.
We hosted our family reunion at The DeBruce and had a wonderful & unforgettable weekend upstate! Emily, Anastasija, Danielle, Marsha & team made it super easy and seamless to plan our weekend from start to finish from arranging the tasting menu & family style dinners, distributing welcome gifts, organizing our group scavenger hunt and helping us host a private yoga class in the Club Room. Our family had an amazing time taking in the views, relaxing by the pool, spending evenings by the bonfire and of course eating delicious food all weekend. Thank you again for making our family retreat so special - we are so grateful!
Twelve high school and childhood friends reunited for a "Big Chill" weekend at The Debruce, and it was wonderful! We spent our time hiking the beautiful grounds, lounging by the pool, exploring Livingston Manor, laughing, and making memories. We also drank some delicious wine and cocktails; which brings me to a shoutout to Rachel; our bartender. Rachel made the weekend special. She was friendly, professional, thoughtful, and brought such energy to all our interactions. From playing a favorite song to dance to for our anniversary, to lighting our outdoor fire each night, Rachel added a great vibe to our stay. Lastly, thank you to Anastasia and Phil for attending to our group's needs. The Debruce is a beautiful property for a memorable getaway!
